Explore the Cumbrian landscape

16/06/2018

The Heritage Lottery fund has enabled Eycott Hill to run a five-year project that will have a number of benefits for wildlife and people. During the project there will be work to:
  • Restore a mosaic of habitats including valley mires, upland hay meadow and upland freshwater course
  • Increase the diversity of the site and in so doing increase biodiversity
  • Provide an inspiring and educational visitor experience
  • Increase the appeal of Eycott Hill Nature Reserve to families
  • Promote the nature reserve as a destination for leisure cyclists

On the 21st June you can enjoy wonderful views of Eycott Hill's surrounding fells on a guided walk and learn about the fantastic wildlife and geology that make it so special.

Alternatively, if you're a fan of two wheels rather than two feet:

Join a guided cycle ride on the 23rd June that takes you from the historic village of Greystoke to Eycott Hill Nature Reserve for a short talk about what makes this upland nature reserve so special for wildlife and people.

To take in more of the gorgeous Cumbrian Landscape you can stay nearby at Stanwix Park Holiday Centre and get to see the coastal side of the Lake District too.
