Somers Wood Caravan Park celebrating 25 years in business

24/02/2021

Back in February 1996, Somers Wood Caravan Park first opened its gates, meaning 2021 sees owners Angela and Marc celebrating 25 years of the park! During February they have been sharing the full story of the site's creation on their Facebook page and here is what has been revealed about the history of this adult-only site, in Warwickshire, so far...

Details begin dropping on the doormat of existing parks up for sale throughout the UK. We then had a lightbulb moment and came to the realisation that there weren’t any caravan parks on our doorstep. With the NEC in its infancy we began to look for a piece of land locally...

The trees start to come down and we manage to get the family cabin in. Time to move out of our tourer... Hooray! Marc cracks on and starts digging out the roads around the park...

The tanks go in, Popsy continues work on the roads and we start converting an old builders cabin into our new Reception! The site entrance takes shape too...

This is the story so far. Head to Somers Wood's Facebook page to continue reading more about the creation of the park and to see some great photos from over the years of the development of the site.
