Spotlight on: Pentewan Sands Holiday Park, Cornwall

01/06/2018

Pentewan Sands is set in the heart of the village and, with over 400 touring pitches and its own private beach, it dominates the landscape.

The site makes a great base for exploring the local area but is equally suited to staying put, as it offers everything you’ll need from a fish and chip shop, café and pub with Sky Sports to a beach bar, swimming pool and tennis courts. If you enjoy a spot of bingo or a late-night disco, then this is catered for in The Seahorse – a family-friendly on-site venue that also offers all kinds of events and activities for children. As you’d expect on a site this size, there are plenty of facilities, including a laundry complete with irons and a well-stocked shop.

The village of Pentewan is a pretty place with a nice pub and a café or two, plus a number of watersports centres in case you fancy trying your hand at diving or mackerel fishing. A coastal footpath also runs in both directions and it’s well worth taking a walk out to Mevagissey or Charlestown, as the views from the clifftops are wonderful.

There are some lovely eateries in both places, too, and you can always take the bus back to Pentewan if you’re feeling too full to walk! If you don’t mind taking the ’van out for the day, then the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a few miles away, too.
