Spotlight on: Swiss Farm Touring & Camping

24/09/2019

Situated on the outskirts of Henley-on-Thames, Swiss Farm couldn’t be better positioned.

Just a 10-minute stroll into town, you will find river walks, shops, bars and cafés.

The campsite itself gives you a warm welcome when you arrive and a map explaining the facilities and how to find your pitch. Our hardstanding pitch was of a very generous size with views over the fields towards the woods and with the occasional glimpse of deer or rabbits if we were up early enough.

The grounds are well kept with many mature trees and hedges and it is a lovely site for just putting your feet up and relaxing. Amenities include two toilet and shower blocks with disabled facilities and a bath. There is also an outdoor heated pool, a well-stocked fishing lake, children’s play area, dog walking and dog washing station. The washing-up area is covered by a trellis of wisteria and is a great place to get chatting to other campers. WiFi is free throughout the site for those who don’t like to be too away from it all.

We didn’t get chance to use The Farm Kitchen restaurant and café, but the menu looked good and it was always busy for breakfast when we walked past. Reception has a shop offering essentials you may have forgotten, fresh bread and pastries in the morning, papers and a selection of camping gear.

During our long weekend we caught a bus at the site entrance into Marlow, which was a lovely town to have a stroll around, including a walk along the river and time for a spot of lunch.
