Spotlight on: Trevornick Holiday Park

This high-quality, coastal campsite is situated less than a mile away from the stunning Holywell Bay, and is ideal for those who love a choice of perfect beaches, as Cornwall’s famous Newquay is only a short drive, or bus ride, away.

There’s everything you could think of here on site – a heated outdoor pool with splash zone, a relaxing sunbed area, pitch ’n’ putt, mini golf, play areas, a shop, launderette, and toilet and shower blocks with private bathrooms.

With all these leisure options available, you could be forgiven for thinking that Trevornick is just aimed at families. However, with plenty of space across seven touring and camping fields, several fishing lakes, a par three golf course, plus an on-site spa offering pamper treatments, a Jacuzzi and sauna for over-18s only, and adults-only swim times in the pool, this is certainly a place that grown-ups travelling without children can appreciate, too.

Other added extras here include a choice of entertainment throughout the season, with artists performing in a dedicated outdoors area in the warmer months, and several places on site to enjoy food and drink.

Pitch types range from grass to semi-hardstanding with electricity, fresh water and waste water. There are dog-friendly and dog-free areas, plus an exercise field. Holywell Bay allows dogs year-round.

Trevornick Holiday Park operates a policy of a minimum three-night stay, but this is a plus-point rather than a negative, with so many things to do in the area. I could spend all day on the stunning beach, or walking the coast path, which can be easily accessed from the bay.

You can also head into Newquay to explore the aquarium, the harbour, and a variety of shops, cafés and restaurants.
