Tour of Britain 2018

28/06/2018

The Tour of Britain will return in 2018, with the race moving around the country between September 2 to 9 – kicking off in Pembrey Country Park, Wales, and drawing to its conclusion with a fast and flat criterium in London. The 1,140 km route will take the world’s top riders via Devon, Bristol, Warwickshire, Cumbria and Nottinghamshire across eight stages of racing.

The race dates right back to 1945, though there have been some gaps in its history. In this time, it’s carried the names of the ‘Milk Race’, ‘Kellogg’s Tour of Britain’ and the ‘Pru Tour’. The existing set-up arrived in 2004 and the race is currently organised by the Sweet Spot Group.

During its eight day takeover, there are plenty of opportunities for UK fans to pitch up and spectate. Erwlon Caravn and Camping park will be a perfect spot to see all the action up close when the riders, during the first stage of the race, pass straight by the campsite.

Erwlon is a family run park with excellent new facilities and offering you a warm welcome. It is an ideal base for touring, exploring, walking, mountain biking or cycling in South West Wales situated at the foot of the Brecon Beacons and is only a stone’s throw away from the ancient borough of Llandovery.
