Exciting events at Burghley Estate, Lincolnshire

Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is the premier equestrian and social event in the international sporting calendar hosted at Burghley House in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

The parkland of Burghley provides a perfect setting for this 4-Day event competition set to take place Thursday 30th August to Sunday 2nd September 2018. With over 160,000 visitors over the four days, an average of 80 of the world’s top competitors and a prize fund of over £300,000, the popular event ranks within the UK’s top 10 national sporting occasions by attendance.

Burghley House where the event takes place is one of the largest and grandest houses of the first Elizabethan Age and makes a great day out for a family looking around the house and grounds. There are also events going on through out the year such as The Film Festival that will run for five days showing fabulous films from 25th to 29th July 2018.

Accommodation in and around Stamford gets booked up early in the year but if you're looking for somewhere to stay why not take a look at Rutland Caravan and Camping. The Rutland park location also offers you the opportunity to explore England's smallest county, renowned for its picturesque villages and towns. Rutland Water is nearby with its sailing, cycling, fishing, nature reserve and many other activities.
