Holme Valley celebrates its 40th birthday!

21/01/2026

Campsite of the Year 2026, Holme Valley Caravan & Camping Park, turns 40 this year and is celebrating with a series of special events throughout the year, including a big bash over Easter.

Guests will have opportunities throughout the year to join in the celebration and win prizes, so stay tuned to our social media feed to find out more.

Holme Valley Caravan & Camping Park first opened its gates in 1986, having transformed from a derelict mill site into a well-organised and cared-for caravan site. The owners, Phillip and Hazel, put their efforts into providing a great customer experience and developing the campsite into an eco-friendly paradise, which has led the campsite to win consecutive David Bellamy Gold Awards.

Their daughter, Naomi, and her husband, Ben, took over running the park in 2014 and have introduced several landmark developments, including glamping pods, a new play area, a takeaway food cabin, adventure golf, and much more.

This decades-long development has created a truly beautiful campsite, which even served as a setting for the BBC series Last of the Summer Wine.

With Naomi and Ben's children, Max, Toby and Freya, helping to run the park, Holme Valley is a multi-generational campsite that guests love returning to. In fact, it won Campsite of the Year in the Out & About Live Awards 2026!
