Spotlight on: Little Satmar Holiday Park, Kent

12/12/2019

Little Satmar is a lovely campsite that’s set within the Garden of England’s finest countryside.

Being tucked away behind the village of Capel-le-Ferne in a secluded and sunny spot, it’s ideal for relaxing. From the site, it’s a short walk down Winehouse Lane into the village where there are a number of nice pubs and cafés for eating out, and a bus stop in case you fancy popping into Dover, Folkestone or Hastings for the day.

Capel-le-Ferne is also positioned on the cliffs with the North Downs Way footpath running along here, which makes for an interesting walk that takes in the Battle of Britain Memorial, a range of World War II installations, and a couple of Martello towers in Folkestone.

The campsite itself is primarily a static caravan site that has 50 touring pitches located at the back. Although most of the pitches have electric hook-up, only three are on hardstanding, so be careful in wet weather. Facilities wise, there are a couple of toilet and shower blocks that are clean and tidy, although a little bit dated. There’s also a laundrette and small shop at reception.
