If it is peace and tranquillity you like, then I would highly recommend this site for all the family.

The facilities are five star, very modern and immaculate, split into two categories – an adult block and a family block. The adult side has complete privacy facilities with shower, toilet and sink, as well as a good dressing area and a hair dryer. In the same block there are individual showers and toilets. There are two unisex privacy rooms and accessible facilities are also available.

The pitches are surrounded by trees and are of a very good size for all outfits, plus they are fully serviced.

Around the facility blocks are what I call lovely secret gardens – four individual areas incorporating a variety of shrubs and plants with a seating area for you to sit and enjoy the quiet.

This site has many attributes, including a very large play area, a superb indoor swimming pool (this must be booked), and a café that is open from 8am to 8pm.

Greetham village is very pretty with honey-stone houses, a beautiful thirteenth century church, a post office and local shop. Three very stylish country pubs offering meals are a five-minute walk from the site.

You can also easily spend a day at Rutland Water, one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Europe. It is only six miles away and offers several parking places, walking and cycling paths (bikes can be hired). The paths are marked around the water’s edge.

There’s lots of birdlife to see here, lots of sailing and windsurfing, and you can’t miss a trip on the small cruise boat, the Rutland Belle, for an hour. For eating and drinking, take your own picnic or use one of the cafés dotted in different areas around the waters.

The very pretty county town of Oakham is only seven miles away from the site and is a must if you like to shop; you will love wandering the individual boutiques, art galleries, museum and the historic castle.
