Survey reveals top UK holiday spot for motorhomers

A new survey of 500 motorhome and campervan owners has named Cornwall as the UK’s favourite holiday destination, with the county also home to the campsite rated most popular by respondents.

The research, conducted by motorhome insurance provider Safeguard, found that 26% of those surveyed picked Cornwall as their top UK getaway spot. The Lake District came in second place, attracting 22% of the vote.

Cornwall’s popularity didn’t stop there either, as the study also revealed that the county boasts the campsite most loved by motorhome and campervan travellers.

Beachside Holiday Park

The five most popular places for motorhome and campervan enthusiasts to stay in the UK were revealed as: 1. Cornwall (26%), 2. The Lake District (22%), 3. Devon (16%), 4. The Scottish Highlands (12%), and 5. Dorset (5%).

The five most popular campsites in the UK that were also identified in survey are detailed below, four of which are Premier Parks!
1. Beachside Holiday Park, Cornwall (13%)  
2. Carlyon Bay Caravan and Camping Park, Cornwall (7%)  
3. Glen Nevis Caravan and Camping Park, Highland (6%) 
4 = Freshwater Beach, Dorset (5%)  
4 = Pennine View Caravan Park, Cumbria (5%)
