Polmanter Touring Park in St Ives has won gold for Camping and Caravanning Park of the Year 2022/23 at the Cornwall Tourism Awards.

Owners of the family-run site, Phillip and Becki Osborne, accepted the top accolade at Truro Cathedral on Thursday 17 November for the 21st annual awards ceremony.

Polmanter was commended for its range of five-star facilities and focus on customer service. The campsite was also marked highly for ongoing investment, which included its swimming pool renovations, sustainable credentials following the installation of EV charging, and local business partnerships.

Becki said: “We’re thrilled to have won gold! To have received this recognition after a tough couple of years, is a real testament to our team. Their dedication and hard work has meant we could continue to welcome hundreds of campers, whilst ensuring our five-star holiday experience remained a top priority. This period of having to adapt our business has been a real learning curve for us all, and we’re so grateful that even during a time of uncertainty, we’ve been acknowledged for our commitment to growing the business.

The Camping and Caravanning Park of the Year category also saw another Premier Park, Trevornick Holiday Park, Holywell Bay awarded silver.

Polmanter will add this accolade to its collection, including Gold awards in the Cornwall Awards in 2020/21 and 2018/19. The site will now go on to be considered by the judging panel for the regional South West Tourism Excellence Awards in March.

Polmanter Touring Park has been run by the Osborne family for over 50 years. Offering five-star camping and luxury self-catering accommodation, the site is located in Halestown, one mile from St Ives. The campsite's facilities include an outdoor heated swimming pool, a bar and restaurant, as well as indoor and outdoor play areas.
