26/02/2023

The finalists for the 2022/2023 South West Tourism Excellence Awards have been announced, with six Premier Parks being named in the line-up.

These top performers will now have to wait until the regional final to find out who will take home gold, silver and bronze trophies. The ceremony will be held at the Eden Project on 23 March 2023, a return to this presitigious venue 10 years after the awards were last held there. Many of the finalists will also be nominated to represent the South West in the national VisitEngland awards later in the year.

The Premier Parks who have been selected as finalists are:

Camping & Caravanning Park of the Year
Long Hazel Park, Somerset
Monkton Wyld Holiday Park, Dorset
Polmanter Touring Park, Cornwall

Holiday Park of the Year
Cofton Holidays, Devon
Hendra Holiday Park, Cornwall

Resilience & Innovation Award
Bagwell Farm Touring Park, Dorset

Cofton Holidays were also commended in the Ethical, Responsible & Sustainable Tourism Award category.

The news follows an awards process which started in April 2022, with tourism businesses from across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall facing a rigorous judging process. Independent judges spent months poring over entry submissions, websites, social media and review sites, as well as carrying out business visits, many of them mystery visits. Reports and recommendations were then submitted to an independent panel who made the final decisions.
