Tourism awards success for six Premier Parks

29/03/2023

On Thursday 23 March, leading tourism businesses from across southwest England were celebrating in style at the Eden Project in Cornwall. For the first time in 10 years the venue was host to the 2022/23 South West Tourism Excellence Awards. A culmination of 12 months of entry, judging and feedback, the annual event saw over 90 awards presented in front of nearly 300 winners, supporters and tourism leaders.

Several of our Premier Parks member campsites were award-winners on the night, from across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

Camping & Caravanning Park of the Year
Gold - Long Hazel Park, Somerset
Silver - Monkton Wyld Holiday Park, Dorset
Bronze - Polmanter Touring Park, Cornwall

Holiday Park of the Year
Gold - Hendra Holiday Park, Cornwall
Silver - Cofton Holidays, Devon

Resilience & Innovation Award
Gold - Bagwell Farm Touring Park, Dorset

Pamela and Christina Walton from Long Hazel Park attended the awards ceremony evening, as the only representative from a south Somerset campsite and the only adult-only campsite finalist.

Speaking about their awards succes, they commented: "The gold announcement came as a complete shock to us as a small, family-run park, pitted against some fantastic offerings from Devon and Cornwall. We are so pleased to have achieved such great success and have already received equally wonderful congratulations from our customers - their enthusiasm and love for our home, and our garden, which make up the business, really has meant so much."
